Who is the sponsor? What is Absher?

The sponsor: Anyone who lives in Saudi Arabia as a resident. Their job, nationality and relationship to you do not matter — they just need to be a resident, even if their residency (iqama) has expired.

Absher: The Saudi Ministry of Interior's e-services platform, where every resident has an account. We need a photo of the sponsor's ID as shown on Absher, and the mobile number registered on it.

What does the sponsor receive?: A promissory note for 25,000 SAR from the Umrah company as a guarantee that the pilgrim leaves on time. It is cancelled once the pilgrim leaves Saudi Arabia.

Passport photo requirements

To get your application processed quickly, send a clear photo of the passport data page.

The photo must be

  • Complete and clear
  • Showing every edge of the data page
  • Fully legible
  • Steady, not blurred

Avoid

  • Light reflection or flash glare on the data
  • Shadows on the page
  • Fingers covering part of the passport
  • Cropping any part of the page
  • Blurry or unclear photos

Check the pilgrim's details before sending

  • The name matches the passport exactly
  • The passport number is correct
  • The date of birth is correct
  • Passport issue and expiry dates are clear
  • The nationality is correct

Any mistake in the details can delay the application or mean redoing the process.

Getting Ready to Travel

Health preparation

  • Make sure you meet the official health requirements in force at the time of travel, including any vaccinations or health certificates required for your nationality and country of departure.
  • If you take regular medication, bring enough for the whole trip.
  • Elderly pilgrims and those with chronic conditions should carry clear information about their condition and medication.

Travel day

Arrive at the airport at the time the agency gives you. Before leaving home, make sure you have:

Arrival & Performing Umrah

Arriving in Saudi Arabia

  1. 1 Follow the airport instructions.
  2. 2 Complete entry procedures.
  3. 3 Collect your luggage.
  4. 4 Make sure you have not left any bag behind.
  5. 5 Contact the trip supervisor or reception representative.
  6. 6 Do not leave the meeting point without telling the supervisor.

Umrah consists of four essential steps:

  1. 1

    Ihram

    • Ihram is the intention to enter the rite. If your route passes the Miqat by air or land, prepare for Ihram before crossing it — men can put on the Ihram garments at the airport before take-off, then make the intention at the Miqat.
    • Men wear the well-known Ihram garments; women enter Ihram in their usual modest clothing, with no special garment.
    • Make the intention for Umrah and say "Labbayk Allahumma 'Umrah", then recite the Talbiyah often.

    Tawaf

    • On reaching Al-Masjid Al-Haram, head to the Kaaba and circle it seven times.
    • Each circuit starts and ends at the Black Stone.
    • After Tawaf, pray two rak'ahs wherever possible, without pushing or harming others.
  3. 3

    Sa'i between Safa and Marwa

    • After Tawaf, go to Safa and begin Sa'i: seven laps.
    • Safa to Marwa is one lap; Marwa back to Safa is another.
    • The seventh lap ends at Marwa.
  4. 4

    Shaving or trimming

    • Men shave or trim their hair; shaving is better.
    • Women trim a small amount from the ends of their hair.
    • With this you leave Ihram and your Umrah is complete.

Ihram restrictions

From the intention of Ihram until leaving it, the pilgrim avoids:

  • Removing any hair or cutting nails
  • Using perfume on the body or clothes
  • Covering the head or wearing sewn garments (men)
  • Wearing a niqab or gloves (women)
  • Contracting a marriage
  • Marital relations and anything leading to them
  • Hunting land animals

During Your Stay

In Makkah

  • Keep up your prayers
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Avoid over-exertion
  • Wear comfortable shoes when walking outside the mosque
  • Keep your hotel card and know the meeting point
  • Follow the group supervisor's messages and instructions
  • In crowds, put safety first — never push to reach the Black Stone or any crowded spot

Visiting Madinah

  • If the group program includes Madinah, we will tell you the transfer, accommodation and visit times.
  • Visiting the Prophet's Mosque is a virtuous act, but it is not part of Umrah nor a condition of its validity.
  • Follow the official rules for entry, visits and available times (such as Rawdah permits via the Nusuk app).

Local transport

  • In full programs we organise the transport included in the program.
  • Be on time for the buses and reach the meeting point well before departure.
  • One person's delay can hold up the whole group.

The hotel

  • Know your room number, and save the hotel's name and location.
  • Keep the supervisor's number.
  • Do not leave your passport or money in plain view.
  • Respect hotel rules and check-in/check-out times.

Elderly pilgrims & children

  • Give extra attention to the elderly and to children.
  • Elderly pilgrims should carry a card with their name, phone number, hotel name and the group supervisor's number.
  • Never leave children unaccompanied in crowded places.

If you get separated from the group

  • Do not wander around at random.
  • Try to call the supervisor.
  • Use the hotel location saved on your phone.
  • Go to the agreed meeting point.
  • If you cannot reach anyone, ask the official staff at the Haram or in the area for help.

If you fall ill

  • If you feel very tired or have unusual symptoms, tell the supervisor and seek medical care.
  • Do not ignore symptoms, especially for the elderly and those with chronic conditions.

Money & belongings

  • Avoid carrying large amounts of cash.
  • Keep your phone, passport and money safe.
  • Never hand your documents or money to a stranger.
  • Do not deal with anyone claiming to act for the agency without checking with the supervisor.

Shopping & gifts

  • Keep your baggage allowance in mind before buying gifts.
  • Too many purchases can put you over the return-flight allowance and cost extra fees.

Returning Home & Responsibilities

Before your return

  • Check your room so nothing is left behind
  • Keep your passport and ticket with you
  • Be on time at the meeting point

The pilgrim's responsibilities

  • The accuracy of the details they provide
  • The validity of their passport
  • Complying with the laws of Saudi Arabia
  • Respecting the visa and length-of-stay limits
  • Complying with airline rules
  • Being on time for every appointment
  • Following the trip supervisors' instructions

Important notes

  • Prices may change according to ticket and service prices and availability.
  • Visa issuance is subject to the regulations in force at the time of application.

  • Flight, hotel and transport times may change for operational reasons beyond the agency's control.
